This is an important issue in democratic education because so often adults reject one kind of jam-packed curriculum only to invent their own way of filling children’s time. It may be nicer. It may be more creative. It may be less directive. But, if you take away a child’s freedom and replace it with something of your own choosing, you have not achieved much.
