How do you understand child development? It is obviously different in a school where children do not have to go to lessons and the adults aren’t measuring them all the time. This doesn’t make it a complete mystery. After all kids had been growing up into adults for millennia before the invention of schools.
We think there are some things kids do very well at different ages. Little kids have a different kind of play to older kids and teenagers are different again. They can all play together, but there is something unique about each age. How do you understand that?
